The man, believed to be in his 40s, was plucked unconscious from the sea following a 30-minute search and died later in hospital.
Another two fishermen were rescued unharmed from the wreckage of vessel.
A major rescue operation was launched after the accident which happened shortly before 8 am as the Condor ferry was en route from St Malo. It is understood that the ferry collided with the boat east of the Minquiers reef in thick fog
