As a result, the court will next week hear jewellery shop owner Darius Pearce’s claims that the Deputy’s proposer at last week’s nomination meeting breached the election law.
The court ordered media organisations to hand over recordings of the meeting.
Mr Pearce, who is one of 13 candidates in the Senatorial election, claimed that during the nomination meeting on Wednesday last week the Deputy declared he had a conviction, but did not say what it was.
