MENOPAUSE Awareness Month is being marked by a series of events throughout October in Jersey.

The first takes place on World Menopause Day on Friday 18 October, when Menopause Matters founder Dr Heather Currie will attend a “corporate luncheon” from midday until 2.30pm in The Royal Yacht.

Tickets for the event, entitled From Menstrual Health to Menopause in the Workplace, cost £40 and attendees will also hear from Laura Neale, the head of partnership and community funding at Wellbeing of Women.

Discussion will cover the importance of women’s health in the workplace. Organiser Trudi Roscouet, also known as “Mrs Menopause” for her campaign work, said Mrs Currie will also speak to doctors and medical staff tomorrow in respect of the practical implications of HRT.

On 19 and 20 October, the Island will also host its first Women’s Health and Lifestyle show. Packed with exhibitors, workshops, and fitness sessions designed to enhance women’s health and wellbeing, the conference at Radisson Blu – which costs £5 per day to attend – will offer a host of activities.

All tickets purchased prior to the event will be put into a raffle for a £200 voucher for the Moorings Hotel.
