Jersey Heritage is hosting its annual cider festival at Hamptonne Country Life Museum this weekend.
La Faîs’sie d’Cidre, sponsored by Ogier, will offer a mixture of live music, food, entertainment and “hands-on” cider-making activities.
Festival-goers will also be able to sample last year’s cider and watch as volunteers and horses work together to press 160 sacks of apples to make cider for next year’s event.
Jersey Heritage’s community events curator Nicky Lucas, said: “La Faîs’sie d’Cidre brings together the community, volunteers and apple and cider experts to create a unique Jersey experience in the beautiful surroundings of Hamptonne.”
Ogier marketing director Kate Kirk added: “La Faîs’sie d’Cidre not only celebrates a rich part of Jersey history, but it turns the tradition into an experience that everyone can be a part of, which keeps Jersey’s traditions alive.”
The event will run from 10am to 5pm each day on Saturday and Sunday, with apple pressings taking place from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4pm.
Parking is limited at Hamptonne and attendees are encouraged to catch the free “Apple Bus” from Liberation Square.
Standard entry fees to Hamptonne apply, with free entry for Jersey Heritage members and children under six.
