The Island’s bowlers came away from the Atlantic bowls championships in Ayr with one gold, two silver and one bronze medals – and finished second in the overall rankings.
Last Tuesday, Derek Boswell and Cyril Renouf had snaffled silver in the pairs, while yesterday’s haul included a gold for the women’s four, a silver for the men’s four and a bronze for Jamie MacDonald in the men’s singles.
This put Jersey in second place in the men’s overall table, behind Wales, and sixth in the women’s overall table behind Scotland, South Africa, Israel, England and Canada.
Almost unbelievably, Jersey were also second across the combined men’s and women’s disciplines, with only South Africa ahead of them.
Below them in the table came the four home countries – Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland.
