A BRITISH adventurer is due to deliver a talk at Jersey’s only home for disabled adults tomorrow in the hope of inspiring Islanders to take part in an upcoming charity trek in Vietnam.

Neil Laughton (pictured) will deliver a presentation at Jersey Cheshire Home Community Centre in town. Mr Laughton, known for reaching the summit of Mount Everest with Bear Grylls and piloting the world’s first flying car from London to Timbuktu, will share his experiences with audiences.

The presentation marks the beginning of Jersey Cheshire Home’s fundraising efforts for a charity trek through the mountains and rice fields of north Vietnam from 8 to 17 November.

Donna Abel, the charity’s chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to hear from someone as inspirational as Neil and we hope his passion and spirit of adventure will inspire participants to challenge themselves for this great cause.”

Michael Clarke, investment director at Oakglen Wealth, which is sponsoring the event, added: “This will be a fun and interesting event as we hear of Neil’s fascinating adventures.”

Those interested in attending the event or participating in the 2025 Vietnam Trek can contact Michelle Picot, Jersey Cheshire Home’s fundraising manager, by calling 285858 or emailing michelle.picot@jch.je
