The Senator will ask the States at their first sitting after the summer recess on 11 September not to debate the proposal of Chief Minister Frank Walker to have the Health Minister dismissed. Senator Syvret claims that new evidence is constantly emerging from whistleblowers and victims and that he needs more time to collate it to present his case effectively. And he has accused the Council of Ministers of trying to fast-track his dismissal to obstruct the investigations that he and others are conducting. Senator Syvret has lodged his own motion calling for fellow politicians to give him a vote of confidence. As that proposal was lodged by the Senator as a minister rather than as a private Member, it cannot be debated for six weeks.
