The present Constable, John Germain, is due to retire in June on his 67th birthday after 12 years as St Martin’s father of the parish.
Mr Travert, a motor trade technician, was born in the Island and has lived in the parish for about two years.
He stood as a Senator and then as a Deputy for St Helier No 2 in the elections in 2005, receiving a total of 6,256 and 398 votes respectively.
