With many of the CCC regulars competing in France, it was a rather depleted field of Jersey riders who lined up, nevertheless those who remained to race, with their Velo Sport Jersey peers, showed their fellow riders from Guernsey more than one clean pair of pedals.
The inevitable roadworks, in St Mary, meant a change of route to the Island Games course, which was based around the Corbière and Bal Tabarin loops, with the Five Mile road in between, starting and finishing at Red Houses.
The visitors put up a strong performance with Gallieme clocking their fastest time, of 56.36, but this was only good enough for 6th place.
Steve Greig stormed round the course in a tremendous time of 53.31 – four seconds faster and he would have taken the CCC record (two up) for this course.
Danny Le Marquand was second, chased all the way by junior Richard Tanguy and Jim Davis maintained her winning ways for the ladies with a time of 1.07.17, with Rachel Hart coming in second in 1.09.16.
