DOMESTIC football is well underway, with a total of 14 senior games taking place across this weekend.

Premiership 1 has assumed a familiar sight at the top, as defending champions St Clement have started with three wins from three.

Chasing them hard early, however, are Grouville, who currently sit second with two wins from their opening two games.

The Groove travel to face a struggling St Peter side tomorrow, rooted to the bottom with one point from their opening three fixtures.

The Crosskeys have suffered back-to-back defeats against both promoted sides, Madeira and Sporting Academics, and will be looking to inject some life into their season at home.

Grouville on the other hand recorded a solid 3-1 away win last weekend over Jersey Wanderers and will be full of confidence on the road again.

The Premiership 1’s second game sees newly promoted Madeira host unbeaten St Brelade at Springfield.

Madeira have had a tough start to life in the top flight, with just one point from three opening fixtures and a difficult 6- 2 defeat to St Clement last time out.

St Brelade on the other hand have one win and one draw from their first two matches, sitting comfy at third in the league.

Both sides will fancy their chances, as Madeira look to get their first league win and St Brelade search to push further up the table.

Both Premiership 1 games are set to kick off at 2pm.

The JFA Le Riche Trophy returns tomorrow as well, with four first round clashes scheduled for 1pm.

First Tower United host St Lawrence at St Brelade FC’s home ground, Sports Club of Jersey face Trinity at Les Quennevais Pitch C, St John host Jersey Wanderers at home and St Paul’s First also welcome Rozel Rovers First.

Also taking place tomorrow in Championship 2 is table-topping Grouville C who welcome Sporting Academics Reserves, St John Reserves host Rozel Rovers Reserves, with St Ouen’s C travelling to St Paul’s Reserves. All Championship 2 matches are scheduled for 2pm.

There are a trio of matches in the O35s Division as Rozel Rovers played host to Portuguese FC of Jersey, St Lawrence venture to St Ouen’s and Trinity welcome Grouville.

Meanwhile, Sunday sees the continuation of the newly renamed Sylvia Spinola Memorial Cup in the Women’s Division

All four teams are in action, with Jersey Wanderers Women set to face Rozel Rovers Women at home, while Sports Club of Jersey Women will face St Peter Women at Les Quennevais, Pitch B, both games set for a 10.30am start.

Wanderers Women will be full of confidence after back-to-back wins to start their group stage campaign.

Rozel Women, however, are a force to be reckoned with in their own right, and sit just behind them with a win and a draw so far.

St Peter Women have one draw and one defeat at present, and will feel confident against a Sports Club side who are still finding their feet this campaign and are searching for their first win of the season.
