AS the summer season draws to a close, RNLI Jersey has issued a safety reminder to Islanders, as some beaches will no longer be patrolled.
Since Sunday, lifeguards have not been stationed at Plémont and Grève de Lecq.
Lifeguards will still be present in St Ouen’s Bay at Le Braye, El Tico and the Watersplash, and at St Brelade’s Bay, from 10am to 6pm.
RNLI lifeguard supervisor Aaron White said: “RNLI lifeguards will continue to patrol at four beaches in the coming weeks and I would like to remind people that if you are planning on going to the coast, to do so at a lifeguard beach; swim and bodyboard between the red and yellow flags and if you do get into trouble, remember to float to live: lie flat on your back with your ears submerged, remain calm and await assistance.”
He also thanked the government for their support “to provide the service and help continue to keep people safe when they head to the coast”.
