ANOTHER man has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the sinking of the L’Ecume II trawler.
Lewis Peter Carr (29), a UK resident, was charged this morning and is due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court today.
Mr Carr is the second man to have been charged in connection to Operation Nectar, which is the police investigation into the collision at sea between Condor’s Commodore Goodwill ferry and L’Ecume II fishing boat on December 8 2022.
Artur Sevash-Zade (34) from Ukraine appeared in the Magistrate’s Court earlier this month.
Both men are facing three charges of unlawful killing relating to the deaths of L’Ecume II skipper Michael Michieli and crew members Jervis Baligat and Larry Simyunn.
In a statement, the police said that “no further arrests are planned as part of Operation Nectar”.
They added: “Our thoughts remain with the families of three men who died.”
