Forensic officers made the discovery during a detailed examination of the vehicle found in Petit Bot.
‘Specialist officers found what we believe at this stage to be parts of skeletal remains in the driver’s seat,’ said a police spokesman.
‘This is as yet unconfirmed and further forensic tests are being carried out.
‘Should forensic tests confirm the presence of human skeletal parts, we are at this stage keeping an open mind about the potential direction of the investigation.
‘If anyone has any information which may assist our enquiries, they are asked to contact CID on 725111. Information can also be given anonymously via the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111,’ the spokesman added.
The force is also appealing for information about a man, Mikus Alps, aged 33, who has been missing since the early hours of Monday.
