A NEWLY assembled taskforce of more than 20 Island cyber-security experts has begun meeting confidentially several times per year to share intelligence on threats and vulnerabilities.
Jersey Cyber Security Centre has formed the Cyber Suppliers Advisory Group to share knowledge about current challenges, collaborate on best practice, and review cyber-security intelligence – as well as providing input into government policy on cyber security.
The group had its initial meeting in late May, with a further meeting planned for early Autumn. JCSC said confidential meetings will take place two to four times a year.
It is free to become a member of the group, and membership is open to any company supplying cyber-security services to organisations in Jersey. These do not need to be based in Jersey, but must have a local presence.
Matt Palmer, director of JCSC, said: “Cyber security is complex, fast-moving, and vital to the Island’s economy and safety. This means that we benefit from being able to draw on the knowledge we already have on-Island.
“The Cyber Suppliers Advisory Group is designed to bring together cyber security experts in a confidential and collaborative space. This will allow us to share intelligence and information amongst trusted colleagues, to help us better address some of the challenges facing the Island.”
