THIS weekend’s Sunset Concerts have been cancelled following the forecast of bad weather.

The two concerts, organised by the National Trust for Jersey, were due to be held at Grantez, overlooking St Ouen’s Bay, tonight and tomorrow.

Organisers say the 1,700 people who had bought tickets will be refunded, minus booking fees.

The trust plans to stage smaller live music events at the Seaside Café at Grève de Lecq at a later date.

Donna Le Marrec, marketing and events manager for the trust, said: “It is such a shame to have to cancel the Sunset Concerts as so much goes into the planning and delivery of these events and we rarely, if ever, cancel activity.

“However, the weather is beyond our control, and it wouldn’t be pleasant for concertgoers or the bands and technical teams if the weather is as predicted. We are sincerely sorry for any disappointment this will cause attendees.”
