A JERSEY artist and caricaturist has been sentenced to 312 hours of community service for possessing indecent images of children.
Edward John Blampied was charged with three counts of making indecent images – one category A, the most serious, one category B and one category C.
The Royal Court heard that he was found with 568 indecent images in total.
The 47-year-old appeared in the Magistrate’s Court in February and was remanded in custody ahead of today’s sentencing.
Mr Blampied studied art at Southampton University and Winchester School of Art and is best known for his caricatures and cartoons, including the well-known mural on Rozel beach café The Hungry Man.
He has also illustrated local children’s books and in 2019 created his own children’s book titled The Motor Mice Go to St Ouen.
