EVER wondered where you can find the cheapest surfboard in the Island? The 15 remaining candidates battling it out on this season of The Apprentice will find out for you next Thursday…

Aside from attempting to put pricecomparison.je out of a job, the candidates will also have to navigate around a roadblock of Jersey cows – also known as “logistics” – and try to beat the tide at Corbière Lighthouse.

Thursday night’s episode ended with a preview of billionaire boss Lord Alan Sugar’s next task for his candidates: a trip to “the largest of the Channels Islands” for the famous discount-buying challenge.

He said: “Jersey may be a small Island, but it adds an impressive £14 billion to the UK economy every year.”

Candidates will have to source nine items associated with the Island, such as shackles and surfboards – and the team that secures the most items at the lowest prices, wins.

One of the candidates exclaimed: “Treasure hunt on an island – what more could you want!”

A sneak peak, which aired after the episode, showed the candidates haggling for a shackle in Quay.je in St Helier Marina, and teased tense debates about who would be project manager in a medieval chamber in Mont Orgueil Castle.

On social media, Visit Jersey encouraged Islanders to “stay tuned” for next week’s episode while Robert Mackenzie, managing director of C. I. Travel Group, said: “This is going to be unmissable.”

Returning for its 18th series, the award-winning business show fronted by Lord Sugar is one of the BBC’s most-viewed programmes and is watched by millions.

Over the series, hopeful business candidates battle it out for the opportunity of a lifetime and Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment and mentorship.

The episode will air on Thursday 22 February on BBC One at 9pm.
