PARISH officials in St John say they will do “whatever is necessary” to catch fly-tippers and litterers following a recent spate of rubbish-dumping.
Constable Andy Jehan has called for an end to the littering problem that has blighted Rue de Douaire, a lane off the main road between St John and St Mary, in recent months. He spoke out after residents collected almost 20 empty wine bottles in the area.
Mr Jehan praised the work of the “terrific” dog walkers who helped to keep the parish clean, adding that he was “very sure” that the culprit was one person.
The parish will be “keeping a much closer watch” on the lane in order to catch the individual responsible, Mr Jehan added.
He also urged the individual to come forward so that they could receive any other help that might be necessary, given the large amount of alcohol being consumed.
