Police appeal for witnesses after alleged assault outside newsagents in St Helier

THE States police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged assault in St Helier last Tuesday.

The incident took place at 4pm outside Newgate Street Newsagents, and involved two men who were not known to each other.

The victim was allegedly struck twice, once to his chest and once to his face, but did not require medical treatment.

One of the men was described by police as wearing a light grey beanie hat, bright red waterproof jacket, dark blue jeans and white trainers. He may have been holding a water bottle at the time.
