THE curling equipment at the St Helier ice rink has been vandalised.

The Jersey Development Company, which has brought the rink to the Weighbridge, initially said that all curling sessions had been cancelled and that it would be refunding everyone who had booked.

But in an update, it said it would now be able to put on limited sessions.

“We’ve assembled a set of five curling stones from a potential eight. Curling sessions will only resume for existing bookings, allowing one team (4 players) per session.

“For safety, games can only take place during supervised sessions until 6pm,” the JDC said in a Facebook post.

The rink is set to be open until the end of the February half term.
