AN elderly man was taken to hospital with facial injuries after an alleged robbery in which thousands of pounds was stolen.
The incident happened at a property in Old St John’s Road near the junction of New St John’s Road between 2.45am and 3.15am on Friday morning. The States police said that an unknown person entered the property, assaulted the vulnerable man before ransacking a bedside drawer and stealing £6,300. The victim sustained facial injuries and was, on Friday evening, in hospital receiving treatment.
