In a short but scathing response to a question that marked his return to the States this week after a period of illness, Senator Stuart Syvret expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the current system. He laid some of the blame at the doors of senior members of his own department and said that he was considering ordering an independent review. Deputy Judy Martin asked the minister whether there was any prospect of some of the Island’s children’s homes being closed in line with the recommendations of the Kathy Bull Report.
