GUERNSEY Water has launched an investigation after a video of two people having sex at a reservoir was leaked and ended up circulating on social media.
The States-owned utility has reported a potential data protection breach to the Data Protection Authority, since the video was recorded via CCTV footage at one of their sites.
Guernsey Water is responsible for the St Saviour’s reservoir, the Millennium Walk and the impounding dam in the island.
The site is under 24-hour surveillance.
The managing director of Guernsey Water, Steve Langlois, said: ‘We are taking this incident very seriously.
‘We have reported the incident to the Guernsey Police and to the Data Protection Authority, and we will be assisting them in any further investigations.
‘We are also carrying out our own internal investigation, which is already under way.’
