Traffic stops to be carried out in search for missing Islander Thomas Frost

Thomas Frost (35245266)

POLICE will be stopping motorists in St Ouen on Saturday evening as part of the search for missing Islander Thomas Frost.

The 51-year-old has not been seen since he left his parents’ house at L’Etacq at around 10pm on Saturday 11 February.

To mark one week since his disappearance, the police will be talking to people around Le Mont Huelin and Mont Pinel in St Ouen in the hope that someone who walks or drives in the area regularly may know something. The police hope that the road check will give them extra information about Mr Frost’s disappearance and that people may not realise that something they may have seen was significant and may help officers with their investigation.

Missing-person posters have been put up and leaflet drops carried out in St Ouen and St Peter. Detectives are also continuing their house-to-house inquiries.

Up to 30 officers have been involved in the operation, which has included open land searches, shallow water searching, house-to-house enquiries, a search of the south-west and north-west coastline, the use of the Channel Island Air Search, drones and a police dog.

Mr Frost is about 5ft10 tall, of medium build and has grey hair. The police believe he may be wearing a crimson T-shirt underneath a navy shirt with white buttons and navy jeans. He may be wearing a light-grey hoodie over his shirt and it is still thought that he did not have shoes with him when he disappeared.

The police have reiterated their appeal for any CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell-camera footage that could be helpful to the investigation and are continuing to ask residents in the west of the Island to check their outdoor areas, sheds, gardens, garages and to assist any neighbours that might not be able to carry out such check themselves.

Anyone with information is asked to call the States police on 612612, selecting option 2, then option 4.
