Superdrug to open store at old Mothercare site?

The health and beauty chain’s plans to move into the building – which has been empty since last summer, when Mothercare shut as part of a wider trend of high street store closures across the UK – has been welcomed by town centre manager Daphne East.

Speaking about the plans, Ms East said: ‘I would like to say how pleased I am that this particular site will be filled, as it occupies a significant position in the town centre.

‘It’s also reflective of our successful town centre, which is facing difficult times.

‘We must keep retail in the mind of government at every opportunity, so the decisions made in the States Assembly proactively encourage and support a very important industry for Jersey.’ The JEP contacted Superdrug for a comment, but the company said they were not yet able to provide any information.
