A BRITISH woman has died after accidentally being shot while on a wild-boar hunt in Brittany, according to reports in France.
The 67-year-old was wounded ‘above the heart’ and taken to hospital in Saint-Brieuc, where she was pronounced dead, said public prosecutor Nicolas Heitz.
The 69-year-old man who fired the shot was taken into custody and a manslaughter investigation has been launched.
According to French media, the pair were walking through a cornfield when the woman was shot.
Mr Heitz described the incident as a ‘dramatic accident’.
He also confirmed that the shooter was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
