SOME of the Island’s best buildings and construction projects have been honoured in the Jersey Design Awards.
The awards, presented recently at the Jersey Museum by the Jersey Architecture Commission, recognise the best projects, from small- to large-scale developments or extensions, as well as embracing sustainable development, interior design, landscape architecture, public art and historic buildings.
There was also an award to recognise the best design for a scheme which had not ultimately been built.
Environment Minister Jonathan Renouf said that the awards offered a showcase for local architects, designers and craftspeople to celebrate their skills, while encouraging high-quality buildings, landscapes and public art.
‘I am particularly pleased with the response to the sustainable and innovation award to help us demonstrate the contribution that good design can make in tackling the climate emergency and our wider environmental goals,’ Deputy Renouf said.
The public will have the opportunity to see all the winning work in an exhibition to be held in Jersey Museum’s Link Gallery in January.
