The Hospital was shut to visitors at the height of the pandemic but has reopened on a limited basis with visiting times from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm and 8pm daily.
Only one pre-arranged visitor is allowed per patient at any one time. Patients will be asked to name a maximum of two relatives or friends to be allowed access and, because of the current limitations, only adults will be allowed to visit.
Pre-visit screening will be in place to arrange visits and check travel history, possible symptoms or any potential exposure to Covid-19. After entering from the Gwyneth Huelin entrance, visitors will need to sign in to the relevant ward or department and use hand sanitiser and PPE throughout the visit.
Chief nurse Rose Naylor said: ‘We are pleased to be able to welcome visitors back to the General Hospital and we have put in place these important measures to keep people safe.’
Visitors who have travelled to Jersey from another jurisdiction and would like to visit a patient must wait until their swab result is confirmed negative.
Those visiting the maternity, paediatric and mental-health departments will need to check visiting times with the department managers by calling the switchboard on (44) 01534 442000, as these may vary.
