A HOUSE in St Brelade has been left badly damaged following a gas-barbecue fire.
Fire crews were called out as the heat from the blaze shattered a living-room window, allowing the flames to spread towards the inside of the home and roof.
Two fire engines from St Helier and an on-call team from the Western Fire Station were sent to the scene at about 6pm on Saturday and quickly extinguished the flames.
No-one was hurt.
In a post on Facebook, the Fire and Rescue Service urged Islanders to ensure their barbecues are in good working order.
