A MAN with 61 previous convictions who was caught with 279 grams of cocaine and £12,290 in cash has been jailed for seven years and eight months.
Darren Anthony Reece (53) hid the drugs in woodland near his home in St Brelade earlier this year. When police went to his home they also discovered the cash.
Reece was arrested on 18 February and pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court to the two charges of possession of drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
At his indictment at the Royal Court on 8 May he changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced on Thursday morning.
