The States police recovered the body at about 5 pm on Wednesday evening and although no formal identification has taken place it is believed to be of missing 37-year-old Zsuzsanna Besenyei.
Ms Besenyei, a Hungarian national, disappeared on Thursday 10 May and last made contact with friends via a text on Sunday 13 May.
A live investigation continues surrounding Ms Besenyei’s movements and anyone who had any contact with, or saw her is asked to contact police on 612612, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A post mortem examination is due to take place and a file is being prepared for the Deputy Viscount.
