After an evenly-matched first 45 minutes, during which the Island side perhaps had the better opportunities to break the deadlock, second half goals from Luke Watson and substitute Karl Hinds ensured Jersey returned home with a well-deserved 2-0 victory to their name.
Little said: ‘It was a great, evenly-matched fixture, which could have gone either way. I felt we were the better side but if they had grabbed the first goal it might have gone their way.
Meanwhile, Jersey lost the U21 Muratti for the second year in a row with a 4-3 extra-time defeat in Guernsey. Goals from Lorne Bickley and Scott McClurg gave the visitors a 2-1 lead in normal time, but Sarnian Jacob Fallaize levelled deep into stoppage time to send the game into a further 30 minutes. Robbie Legg and Tom Martin then put Guernsey 4-2 up before McClurg gave the Reds hope.
