The 21-year-old, who captained Scotland’s under-20s in the Junior World Cup last year, moves to St Peter from the Guinness Pro 12 finalists after previous spells at London Scottish and Ospreys and joins the likes of Nick Haining, Alex Rae, Gary Graham and James Freeman in providing head coach Harvey Biljon with formidable options at the back of the pack.

The South African also revealed that recent loan-signing Tom Howe has been added to the England U20 squad for the forthcoming Junior World Cup in Italy, which begins next week.
‘This is a great opportunity for Tom to play on the biggest stage for international junior rugby,’ Biljon explained. ‘We’ll have to bide our time before he’s able to come to Jersey, but we’ll look forward to adding him to our squad during the latter stages of pre-season, when our supporters here will be able to see him in action.’
Jersey’s 33-strong squad commence pre-season training at the start of June ahead of encounters with Welsh Pro 12 side Scarlets and National One outfit Blackheath on 15 and 22 August respectively.
