Jersey defeated at the death

Another Worcester try came soon after the resumption, but then, 22-5 down, Jersey began to dominate.

A second try for Noone — the game’s fifth from a lineout-driving maul — reduced the deficit before a Bentley penalty and a penalty try drew the Islanders level at 22 apiece.

Worcester grabbed a penalty try of their own with six minutes remaining to restore a seven point advantage, but Drew Locke ensured that didn’t last long, intercepting on halfway before sprinting under the posts for a bonus-point try. Bentley again added the extras and with just three minutes left on the clock it was 29-29.

However, the Warriors weren’t finished. After missing a penalty attempt on 78 minutes, kicker Ryan Lamb dealt the final blow after Jersey debutant Ross Jones-Davies knocked on and the Reds were forced to settle for two Championship bonus points.
