Irish champions too strong for Island side

League of Ireland champions Sligo Rovers proved too strong for Jersey's top football team on Saturday nignt.

League of Ireland champions Sligo Rovers proved too strong for Jersey's top football team on Saturday nignt.

The Champions League preliminary round qualifiers beat the Island side 4-0 at Springfield, although they were only one up at half-time.

In wet and muddy conditions, they put on the pressure in the second half and, despite Jersey's best efforts, scored three more goals to confirm the victory.
