Kerri Brown from Grouville finished her portion in just under two minutes when she took part in the annual local spaghetti-eating competition.
However, Adam Moran – known as ‘The Beard’ – has said that the Islander had an unfair advantage as her portion had been allowed to cool before the clock started.
Mr Moran tweeted: ‘doesn’t really count when they served mine 5 seconds before eating, everyone else had 10 minutes to cool. Plus the fact that I ate 10 lb of it.’
When asked whether he would take on the 26-year-old fund administrator in a rematch next year, he replied: ‘If they agree not to give me third degree burns this time then sure.’
