Man appears in court following ecstasy seizure

Laurence Munks (36), for whom no address was given, was remanded in custody following a short hearing in the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and told that a formal committal hearing is scheduled to take place in August.

Mr Munks is charged with being in possession of the class A drug with intent to supply on 18 June in Seaton Place. He also faces a charge of possessing the drug on the same day, and a third charge of being in possession of the class B drug cannabis at the States police headquarters on 19 June.

Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris adjourned the case until 5 July and said that a committal hearing was scheduled to take place on 2 August.

Mr Harris told the defendant: ‘You face three charges, and in all the circumstances, this matter is too serious for this court to deal with.’
