Pioneering brain tumour treatment ‘is going well’

Father-of-two Rafal Tabor began the specialist proton therapy treatment at a clinic in Germany last month. The radiation therapy, which cost around £27,000, was paid for after Islanders raised almost all of the cash in less than two weeks following an appeal on the front page of the JEP by Mr Tabor’s family and friends.

Now his wife, Monika, has said his treatment is ongoing and that more is likely to be known about his prognosis in the coming weeks.

‘Rafal feels good, we started therapy on 26 April and so far, so good.

‘Rafal is probably going have chemotherapy as well. The doctors have said they might be able to tell us more in about four weeks,’ she explained.
