The 43-year-old was someone with a ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ character when he drank alcohol, the Magistrate’s Court heard.
He admitted committing a grave and criminal assault on the woman in the early hours of Sunday 26 February.
The court heard the pair had drunk 15 cans of lager between them and then went to buy eight more cans. A short time later the defendant placed his hand on the woman’s throat in order to stop her from using a word he did not like and then bit her nose hard enough to draw blood.
