Playing field plans to be shown

Plans for the scheme are to be unveiled next month at a presentation for parishioners.

School principal Carl Howarth has written to residents of Mont Millais and Les Varines to briefly outline the proposal and to invite them to attend the meeting.

The two fields lie to the east of the prep school and south of Palace Close, and slope down to Ivy Still Lane.

In his letter Mr Howarth says that the proposal has the support of the Education Department, Jersey Property Holdings and The Jersey Royal Company, which farms the States-owned land.

He says that the plan is to create a playing field on the top section of the land and to turn the lower, more steeply sloping section into a natural green space for plants and wildlife.

The plans are due to be made public at the meeting, which is scheduled to take place in the main hall at JCG at 6.30 pm on Thursday 20 April. Students, staff and members of the local community are invited to attend.
