Man found not guilty of attempted murder

A MAN accused of attempting to murder his friend has been cleared of all charges and has walked free from court.

Gerard Eamon Maguire (49) was found not guilty of attempted murder, grave and criminal assault and perverting the course of justice.

It followed an incident in which his friend, Shaun Patrick Howard (63), suffered life-threatening stab wounds to his neck following an altercation between the two men at Mr Howard’s flat at Journeaux Court in the early hours of Sunday 30 October.
