Holocaust Day ceremony pays tribute to 21 victims from Jersey

During the ceremony wreaths were laid around the Holocaust Memorial in front of the Maritime Museum to honour the 21 Islanders who lost their lives in the genocide.

Bob Le Sueur – who harboured Russian slave workers during the Occupation – also addressed the crowds, which included Chief Minister Ian Gorst, Deputy Bailiff Tim Le Cocq and a number of community representatives.

He said that if Islanders wanted to challenge ‘egregious’ regimes then they needed to speak up.
