Beaulieu boxes bound for needy in Romania

Of the 18 girls who applied to take part in the trip, 12 have been chosen to travel to the country alongside four staff members to distribute food parcels and shoeboxes and visit orphanages for handicapped children, while also spending time with vulnerable families.

It is the sixth time that the school has sent students to the country to help with Mustard Seed Jersey projects. The charity provides essential supplies to families in eastern Europe by distributing goods packed in shoeboxes.

Marta Pugsley, Beaulieu School chaplain, said that the school felt very honoured and excited to once again be invited to take part in such an important trip. ‘Our recent visits have been real eye-openers for the girls and extremely humbling experiences for us all,’ she added.
