One of these includes online adverts selling pets.
PC Ingham said: ‘From time to time a number of adverts will appear offering pedigree animals such as dogs, cats and even rare parrots for what looks like a bargain price. The reason for this is simple – the animals don’t exist. The seller asks for all the money up front in return for having the animal delivered to you from another country.’
He is advising Islanders not to be ‘fooled’ by these adverts.
