Life-saving food parcels to help Jersey’s poorest

But while some Jersey residents enjoy wealth that many can only dream of, 300 Islanders a year are relying on food donations to survive.

Making sure no one in Jersey goes hungry are Vini Jones, Brett Cutts and Gerry Padden, who work for the Island’s only food bank charity, the Grace Trust.

The trust open their doors in Minden Place every day, and last year distributed 1,253 food parcels to more than 320 people. As Christmas fast approaches, the charity have started supporting more people each week and are planning for a busy Christmas lunch in December.
