Nine beaches were cleaned as 160 volunteers joined conservation group Littlefeet Environmental for the day. The beaches included those at Havre des Pas, Gorey, Archirondel and Ouaisné and a total of 328 kg of debris was collected.
Courtney Huisman, project co-ordinator for Littlefeet, said: ‘It was a job well done by all our volunteers and representatives – every single one of them made such a positive contribution to the event.’
As well as the pair of trousers, the volunteers picked up a bikini among the general litter.
All the volunteers were rewarded with a barbecue at the Watersplash in St Ouen’s Bay.
