Heroin dealer jailed over Jersey importation plot

Sean Michael Lambotte (40) was arrested by police officers following an ‘intelligence’-led operation which also caught his girlfriend, a drugs mule and a money courier.

Lambotte was in touch with several UK-based conspirators for a number of weeks to organise the importation, which was carried into Jersey internally by a woman from Liverpool, the Royal Court heard.

He was arrested by officers on 8 October shortly after collecting 15g of heroin that had been hidden in a field in St Clement opposite Clos de la Mare. He was carrying £4,700 in cash at the time.

Joanne Olaosebikan, who brought the drugs over on a flight and was in the flat when officers raided, was also jailed for four and a half years on Thursday, for her involvement in the crime.

Amy Le Masurier (32), Lambotte’s then girlfriend – who was not aware of the importations until after they had happened – but arranged accommodation in Jersey for Olaosebikan, was given a two-year custodial sentence by the Superior Number, which only convenes for the most serious of cases.

A fourth defendant, Annie Cleaver, who took some of the proceeds of the sale of heroin back to Liverpool from Jersey, was sentenced to 180 hours of community service and given a one-year probation order earlier this year.
