The actor, singer and songwriter has lived in Jersey since the mid 1980s and is hoping to fill the seat left vacant by ex-Senator Zoe Cameron, who resigned earlier this month.
Born Stephen Michael Levy, the 61-year-old said he is ‘a man of the people’.
In a short statement announcing his candidacy he added: ‘I don’t want to make promises to the people of Jersey that I can’t keep, a bit like those New Year’s resolutions that never happen, but what I will say is this: I make no promises, but if I can help you I will do my best to do so or make sure that you get the help you need.’
