Drowning most likely cause of man’s death

Anthony John Cox, who lived in St Brelade, was found dead last Tuesday in the water near to St Aubin’s Yacht Club several hours after he was reported missing.

The inquest heard that consultant histopathologist, Dr Peter Southall, was awaiting the results of tests but believed that Mr Cox most likely died from drowning.

Advocate Cyril Whelan, the relief coroner conducting the inquest, formally released Mr Cox’s body to enable the funeral to take place. The inquest will resume at a date yet to be fixed.
