Jersey to be consulted by the UK over Brexit

Lord Faulks, QC, this week told a gathering of politicians, delegates and business bosses from the UK, Jersey and around the world at a reception near Westminister that the Island would be consulted throughout talks to leave the UK which are expected to take at least two years.

Departing Prime Minister David Cameron had also promised to include Crown Dependencies in negotiations during his speech the morning after 17 million people voted for the UK to sever its ties with the European Union last month.

Although not part of the EU, Jersey does have important trade links with the continent that are dependent on the UK’s membership.
